champb
It has been quite awhile since I have come back here to the TU and posted. I have been making jigging spoons/slabs over the past few years and have started a small side business in making my baits. I have enjoyed reading on here and using the techniques to help develop my products. I owe a lot to this website, and need to start giving back from time to time. I am still not as good as the talent I see on here with the airbrush, but for my type of baits I have done a pretty fair job. I have enjoyed researching holographic tapes, etc. To find stuff that has worked for me and my application. I just wanna again say thanks to all that post on here and share some of my lure work the last few years. This place has been great in meeting others in helping make my hobby an enjoyable one. Happy Holidays to all. Bryon Nolan of TNT Slabs!

I don't know too much about slabs, but if there is ever anything I can do to help, just look me up. Happy Holidays to you and your family. Big-D
What do you use to get the chrome base on your slabs(top pic)? They look great. -D
champb
Big D, that top lure is made with a holographic/chrome sticker. I bought that particular vinyl roll on ebay. It was sold by a consolidated seller who purchases items and resells. The vinyl was used by a lure manufacture, the company was Luhr Jensen and Sons out of Oregon. I was very pleased to get my hands on that stuff. When you look at it straight on it looks chrome, when you tilt it you get the holographic effect that is really cool on it. The vinyl itself is somewhat easy to work with. It is thin, but doesnt work well with the bends in lures, like some holo materials do. I ended up just getting me a die cutter to cut my stickers out as I do so many of them. It can give them a better look, and they are all alike. Here is another picture of that same material used as on the top pic,but slightly tilted. It has lots of bling, bling to it. I love it on the Stripers, Sand Bass, and Hybrid Striped Bass. This other pic is of a fun lure to use. Its a skinny slab, similar to the flee fly slab on its build. But I made it with what all customers seem to ask for char on one side/white on the other with a red head on the lure, and some like silver holographic. I just put all the requests into one lure. I call it a Psychedelic Minnow.
Big-D
Thanks champb. From the looks of the photo, I thought they were painted. Excellent work with the vinyl. I've been using super chrome powder paint on mine- I might have to start using stickers and sealing with devcon. -D
