MDC
Does anyone have Bob's 2pc swimbait mold? I'd like to try a few before buying the mold.
SwampBaits
I used to have the mold. The baits swim excellent! I only sold the mold because I couldn't package them without the tails warping.
GB GONE
I have a solution to that if anybody decides on the mold. I had one and LOVED it!!! Package the bait in a clear box the size of the bait, nose to the top or hanging portion of the box. Take some fishing line and make a loop through the insert and back out. Take both ends of the line out the top of the box and close the box. Put a small piece of tape on the box to secure the ends and trim the excess line. Now you can hang the bait boxes up on pegs and the bait will hang (instead of slide) inside the box. Worked perfect and I have plenty hanging in my boat right now!!! Jim I can photograph if my explanation is not clear!!!
SwampBaits
MDC are you talking about the 2-piece full round swim bait, or the 2 piece baby-e style. I was talking about the FULL ROUND style.
GB GONE
Ooops.... I was talking about the baby-e myself!!! Sorry!! jim
rr316
I would but one of BOBs swimbaits in a heartbeat if he would spin the bait in the mold so you could do 2 color baits top to bottom! I don't know if its even possible but would make it a better pouring bait imho
GB GONE
Baby-e is that way... See gallery for Swamp's beauties!!! Jim

bhorlings
I would get one in a heart beat too but want to pour more than one color and it seems really hard to do. I would also love to see it in a 5" version.
MDC
This is the one I was talking about [/b]:popupWindow('http://www.bobstackleshack.com//index.php?main_page=popup_image&pID=4')"] Then I saw these from Swampbaits. I think he said there are two sizes. I'd really like to compare all of them side by side if anyone has one or two of each. Not sure of the names. Is the bottom bait a one piece mold? GB GONE
The one you linked to is a 2 piece mold (as pictured) and tough to pour more than a single color as the plastic is poured from the nose of the bait. It can be done with practice though. The pictures of Swamps baits are made in a 2 piece mold but the bait is poured from the top and thus easy to pour several colors. Bob has 2 sizes available in the those. On the "linked" swim, Bob will cut you other sizes if you email or call him. I have talked with him about turning that bait also so that we can get some crazy colors going. He may be super busy right now as many of us are with the holidays and year end chores. Give him a shout though and let him make the call... Jim
MDC
Thanks Jim I think he may be on vacation. I sent him an email a few days ago to see if he had any samples, and haven't heard back. He's always been good about replying. Is the one like Swamp's the one you are calling a baby e? I know little about swimbaits, but was shown a few weeks ago what they can do. Your clown color looks great. I forgot I had seen those on your site a while back. GB GONE
That could be as he is good about getting right back! The swims Swamp did are what I called a baby-e. The baits are similar in style. As far as I know, the baby e, tiny e etc from California Swim Babes are poured in Mexico and not in Ohio where the company is based.
