Ryno Plastics
I've got some rust on one of my Pro Pots which I guess is from not cleaning it for quite a while. Can anybody suggest what to use to remove it or how to give this thing a good cleaning? I need to find a wire brush that I can use with my drill, just haven't seen one lately. Any ideas where to find one of those? Thanks for your help! Ryan
kidlizard
Ryan, I got one from Lowes. Get a wire circular brush and you will be fine. Take all the pouring handle loose and start by spraying it down with some penetrating oil or WD40 and let it set for a minute. Then start useing the brush to remove the rust. Dont buy a real coarse brush because you can damage the pot. Its going to take some time to get it perfectly clean, but you can do it. To avoid this in the future, wipe your pot down with worm oil, wd-40 or some type of silicone spray before storage. It dont take long for a humid room to rust one of those things, so I make it a habit to keep it lubed. Worm oil is best because you dont have to re-clean the pot before you pour again. Hope this helps. John

njrfishing
Hi everyone, I've just recently started to pour my own baits and wanted to know how to clean the melting pot.I removed the handle and the extra plastic from the bottom but there is still some plastic on the walls of the pot and glitter on the bottom, will the wire brush on a drill scratch or damage the inside or is there some other way to clean the pot? BAssKickin
USe a wire brush on your drill and some worm oil or even attractant type oil and brush it out. I believe this makes the pot better and will be seasoned eventually...use oil liberally!
