Basseducer
Kelly, I'm not sure of the wire size, but Do-It sells a screw lock that is made to fit their molds and it works very well. They are reasonable by the hundred and they offer bulk of 1000 for $50.00. I think they might send you a sample if you contact them. Tapupa
I'm not overly impressed with the Do-It Screw Loc inserts. The shank on them is not long enough and because of that the screwloc does not reach far enough into the mold (football) to anchor firmly when molding the heads. The screw loc will most of the time be loose in the head of the jig. Hopefully, Do-It will do a redesign with a longer shank of some kind as a remedy. I use the tru-turn screw locks, which I put on the hook and pour into the mold. I never had any complaints. The Do-It one looks very flimsy to me also, and looks like it could pull out. However that's my opinion, and since I don't use those, I can't make a valued judgement. I'll stick with mine for now, as I can modify my mold to accept what I have. Munkin
I find that they could be a little longer on the screw locks. Now I do have the problem of the lead being loose on the hook after pouring. Powder painting the jig seems to cure the problem though. TCCustom
I like the new screws, Yea on the smaller 1/16 and 1/8 every now and then I get a lose one. I just melt it back down and repour. I have found that by laying the wire across the hook it stays better, really no problem. TC
charmerbaits
How do you get the wire to lay across the hook? I've made over 1000 and the coil locks are not long enough to reach the hook. Charlie
TCCustom
I have no problem laying it across the shank on the 1/16 and 1/8, the others don't need it. I will try and get some pics of them in the mold. TCCustom
