Tally
Just completed my first buzz bait and I am not too excited about the way it runs. It runs to the left a little more that I think it should and it appears that the blade it as 11:00 and the head is at 4:00 when coming through the water. the wire is straigh and the head and the blade are in line. Anyone have any ideas? thanks Tally
Tally
Problem solved! Everyone has helped me so much before that I thought I would pass this on. It won't help the ones whose bait runs good but it might help the next newbie like me. After getting the old book out and looking for possibilities, I thought at first that the blade was to big for the head (3/8oz). So I made a 1/2 oz with the same size blade (#3 Delta). Still running too far to the left and at 11:00 and 4:00. Plan 2!!! Moved the blade arm up away from the head arm like the book says. Wow!! Major improvement. Put the 3/8 oz back on and moved the blade arm. Bingo, buzzbait ready to go fishing. I hope this helps someone who runs into the same problem as me. rfdong
I came home tonight and per the thread, started playing around. i found that bending the blade arm slightly upward away from the body completely cured it. It didn't need much of a tweak for slow speed retrieve. try it.
