Celticav
OK, I have tried these and come to some conclusions with them. They do not work well with dips, dyes, and markers. They hold scent about as long as it takes to get them in the water. They are just as cost effective if you like to try this color and that color while on the water. They do float well, but the legs on the baits have a tendency to stick to the body creating an unnatural action. While they can be stretched out and still return to their original shape, I really have not found a use for this ability yet, except to keep my boat tied to the dock
woodsac
The only real advantage I have found is how much they float! I can float a 5" soft jerkbait on a 5/0 Mustad Ultra Point. Great for carolina riggn'. But on the negative, I can't stand (as mentioned above) the way the plastic becomes sticky
southstatesfishin
You know how you cast a worm and the tail wraps around a limb like you trying to tie of a horse? Well take heed , never try to pull one of these buggers off unless you have on your sunglasses!!! Ever shoot a 30 0 6 its about the same when they do let go!!! Attitude
Woodsac, I agree...They are awesome for carolina riggin and can float the larger hooks well. Other than that, there really isn't a big deal to the 3X baits. They should make some smaller size lures....like 3 inch craws....there isn't as wide of a selection as the standard soft plastics. funny farm
Are these 3X baits the soft plastics that stretch ?
woodsac
Ya. 3X is made by Strike King and Terminator has the SnapBack. They're both made from the same material and contain the same patent #'s. I'm sure they split the costs of all those patents
SeminoleFan
I really dont like them, Even for Carolina rigging. In Florida, the grass snags the plastic and the hook comes thru , creating a ball of plastic. And dont ever mix them with regular plastic worms, or you will have one hellava mess on your hands. woodsac
You're right about mixing and the mess the thing. Regular plastisol melts the 3X baits. They say not to even put them in a box that had regular baits in it. Shimano is now making a "Cyber" box. I guess some of the plastic tackle boxes were melting the plastic as well. Too much trouble for me! I haven't used any in a couple months.
earthworm77
They will never replace traditional plastics....never!
trickworm
Tried a pack of their 6 inch lizards. Had the same problems and results that were mentioned above. Won't be buying anymore of these baits. Zoom and Berkley are more effective and hold up well for most applications.
Mercury
Not to mention the reason they dont have salt in them is the salt kills the elasticity, I havent had any that held the scent, I used one and never finished the package. Celticav
I made the mistake of trying their flukes too, it was a total waste of time, JIM
