Tally
Thanks guys!! It is a good thing this is just a hobby, if I tried to make a living doing this, I would average about $0.07 an hour. I use powder paint for most and airbrush the scales on the back. Unfortunately, you can not see the sparkle. I use Almost Chrome powder for a base, add belly color, and then iridescent emerald. You wouldn't believe how life like it looks in the water. Fish love it! Tally
piddler
where do you get those colors in powder paint?
Tally
The Eastwood Co. try here: http://www.eastwoodcompany.com/HCpowders.asp?Dep_Key1=hct Sorry I don't know that will link. never done that here. It is a little different than other powders. It takes less temp and more time or cracking will happen. I think what happens is the top coat cures faster than the base, which like all automotive paint, will crack. I really like the iridescent colors, the translucent colors don't thrill me to much. They have a good selection of colors that other powders don't offer. Hope this helps and if you have problems with cracking, shoot me an e-mail and I will do my best to help.
