Tube Mold

Recommended Posts

All the tubes I sent to the swap were dipped. The big diff is the amount of plastic you need to dip vs Del's tube mold ( which is poured and requires only a small amount of plastic). You still have to cut the tails on both versions, its the most time consuming part of manufacturing. To dip tubes you need at least a gallon of plastic and that doesnt go that far. Del's method, although slower, is by far the most cost effective way to make tubes and they turn out great every time....unlike dipping, were you need alot of practice to consistantly turn out a good looking product. Whos Craig ?

I think I'll have to go with the pour mold. Not sure my demand is that high at this time to dip. Tubes are not real popular in this area. For some reason our fish don't care that much for them. Everyone tried them when they first came out and we just haven't caught that many fish on them. Seems like our fish preferr the "big bubba" baits.

Tubes are not that popular up here either, but I took some out ice fishing yesterday, and everyone was catching Eastern Brookies. One was near 3 lbs., and several broke off 10 lb test line!

These were left overs from Pink Salmon fishing. The Pinks love 'em. One day I caught and released about 40 nice Pinks on one single tube! I was out-fishing everyone! I passed around a few tubes and soon everyone was hooked up!

Doing my best to change fishers attitude towards plastics!
