BigTimeBuzzer
I make the ones with the little Y guards all the time. I make them with several different weed guard systems actually. Alot of guys like the one with the Y guards but I will stick with the fiber for my own personal use.
robbor
Thanks for the input Big Time. I was talking to another crappie fisherman who used both the Y and the normal fiber and had a preference to the Y type. I have not really fish weedless crappie jigs but lost way to many jigs the last few outings. I take it you glue the Y type in after casting? softworm
robbor, I've made them both ways, and with a wire, I like the seven strand wire better, its not as stiff
robbor
the only weedless jigs I recall using were timber-rock jigs with 7 strand guard that is untwisted and I missed every fish:mad: and I dont normally miss fish. Im thinking of trying the Y guard or normal fiber modified a tad by taking a few strands out and spreading. But Ill probably try the Y first. BigTimeBuzzer
I pour mine in the heads. I have tried the glue and it seems to make things to stiff for me. I have made weedguards from the Y's/fiber/cable/single strand wire/large mono/and on and on. But alot of guys seem to like the Y's.....but that's my
