Picking skirt colors

Recommended Posts

I have been looking at the catalogs from Barlows, Stamina, and Living Rubber. Even though they offer the same brands, the naming conventions are different. Or are they? It seems as if certain colors are offered by certain companies or are they the same color with different names? Is it just me or is this confusing?

The difference between all the companies you listed is that Living rubber will send you a catalog along with any samples you request. I have dealt with all 3 companies pertaining to skirts and the guys at Living Rubber are on the ball!! Stamina is great to deal with as well and so is Barlows. Living Rubber deals ONLY in skirts and skirt making supplies. I just wish with the millions of color combos available that they would offer some pics of some interesting color combos to get the brain waves working since they have access to thousands of different colors of skirts.

Living Rubber WILL NOT SEND ME SAMPLES without charging me for them. I just ordered $84.00 worth of materials and then requested some samples and they charged me for the samples.

Neither will they keep a copy of your IRS #637 FORM on file.

One source i have been using is Hatfields. They are very quick with their deliveries and will sell their materials in half pound and one pound increments or by the 10 count and 100 count finished skirts.

I will have to agree that Dennis Hatfield is a heck of a nice guy. Some of the people i order from are pretty rude and act as though they are doing you a favor just by talking to you.

I would prefer to order all my skirt materials from HATFIELD but he is limited to specific colors because of the amount of material he has to purchase to make a profit. His materials are a bit heavier and not as "sticky" as some of the others on the market. This makes a big difference when it comes to assembling the skirts and cutting of the ends of the tabs. I normally use two and one half layers of his materials to make one skirt. With some of the other companies materials i have to use three layers to make a skirt and then it is still a tad bit thinner than i would like it to be.

If we would all get together and make an effort to buy the majority of our skirt materials from HATFIELD maybe we could convince him to broaden his present color selection to include those colors we need that he doesnt presently keep in stock. He also carries a good selection of buzz bait and spinner bait components.
