Soft Plastic Mold Swap 1 [Completed]

Recommended Posts

Just an idea, don't know if anyone would be interested. Now that we've completed our soft plastic swap (Thanks to Mercury), what about trading some molds :?: I make my own molds out of plaster, usually just a couple cavities at a time. I thought it would be kind of cool to make a few molds and trade 'em. I guess the only problem would be covering the shipping costs. However, a 2 or 3 cavity plaster mold would be a sinch to make...and pretty fun, If you have nothing better to do like me :? Like I said, just an idea. If I'm crazy, don't be afraid to say so :)

I agree with Big Splash too, gonna have to limit the participants down to a half dozen or so. I guess the next question is who's in? I think we're also going to need someone to run it, any volunteers? I won't be around the house too much in the next few weeks so I don't think I'd be very reliable. If there's anyone out there that would like to participate and wouldn't mind running things, I'd appreciate it!

Hi fellas,

All future TU hosted swaps will need to be staffed by a moderator.

Only to keep the participants within a reasonable amount & also, the mods have ability to "affect" a users account if they dont come thru in the end.

I dont wanna deter anyone from forming a swap, I just want one of the mods in charge. I wouldnt wish anyone to have to deal with the work that Mercury put forth in the last one :D

If theres enough interest, I'll assign a mod to the swap or I can cover it, shoot, I think Im interested in gettin in on it myself B)

Hey, I wonder if we can talk Del into gettin in on it

I can do 5 or 6,

but if you wanna run with 4 just say the word.

I agree with the mailing date. lets set a date at 12/27/03 lets have em in the mail by then.

Lets do $7 bucks to cover shipping, whats left over will take care of extra needed to get the molds to big splash up in Canada.

Looks like 6 to me, if Mercury is in.

As to cavities, Id like at least 4, but 4 different baits on one mold would be even better IMO, but not required, do what your comfortable with. Changing your routine would just make it harder.

Plaster, resin, RTV, aluminum, anything....as long as it works.

Make sure you package the molds carefully & mark em "FRAGILE", or "GLASS", especially if your sending plaster. I'll take the same care when they go back out.

If at anytime you decide you cant finish the swap, or will be delayed, contact me immediately. if theres still enough time, we'll take in a repalcement for you, no questions asked. So work for 6 molds fellas, if Mercury wasn't wantin in, well take one more, until then.....

Signup is over

Red... without Merc it would be five right? Or should we build it anyway, in case someone else joins in? Also; six molds would be enough for one for ourselves, right? I would like to suggest we don't send a mold out for you to send back to us (our own), to help keep shipping to a min. What do you guys think?

Correct & correct.... With no one else stepping in, just mail out 4 molds. I'll package them accordingly.

As to basskats question, yes, paypal or or send check or MO along with your molds......the address is posted previously in this thread.

As you near completion of your molds, post back in here & let us know. If we finish early, we can mail em out early, sound good?

thanks

I've one set finished, sort of a back up plan.... now I'm wondering...do I have time to build a different set and still make the deadline...hmmmm? I have been wanting to try something new...

I really get inspired by these swaps. I've even come up with some very interesting new designs! Now I want to try new way of pouring a set of molds. OK back to work!
