1shot
I'm getting ready to pour my first ever batch of shakey heads and bass jigs. I got some of the lead ignots from bass pro, and my question is my friend told me he uses some powder flux type stuff to get the impurities out of the lead after he melts it. Is this necessary? stratmanv
If you got lead from bass pro it is most likely pretty clean. Any inpurities will probably come to the surface after melting and can than be skimmed off with a stainless spoon. I have never had to add anything. LedHed
You can use bees wax or candle wax for flux - very small amounts and be careful adding it to hot lead. You shouldn't have to flux ingots - wheel weights you can.

HookUp
Your good to go w/ the BPS lead. Clean and ready to pour. Keep the mold lead and mold hot and you'll be ok.
