saint308
When you guys are pouring black with any color flake, how do you get the flake to show up? It seems no matter how much flake I add, only very few pieces are noticeable in the bait. I assume it is because it you can only see the flake on the surface, but is there a trick to make the flake stand out more? Zoom and others don't seem to have this problem. Thanks. Saint. BassnRandy
I actually pour a very dark smoke. You can just see through it up to a light bulb. Helps make the flake come out better. Also in black baits I double the flake and add some .015 size also for best results.
nova
Randy is right on. I will double and sometimes triple the amount of flake in black plastic. It's the only way to ensure that some of it will show. www.novalures.com
Richard Prager
I also double the amount plus overflowing a bit on the spoon

bass4cache
Tone it down to a dark smoke and increase the flake. A friend of mine that works in Injection molding told me some stuff about flake. He said that the pressure during injection molding pushes the flake to outside. That why flakes on injection and handpoured look a bit different. I think that's also why on 'senko' type lures the flake sometimes doesn't show up as good unless it a very light colored base.
