cadman
chas48, I was thinhking of a jig mold, that accepts weedguards. This one I see does not. If you're worried about screwing up your mold, I would make a fixture for you jig, and drill a hole in the head. Then epoxy a tru-turn hitchiker in the hole after it is painted. Just a thought. chas48
I was wondering if any one had modified a mold themself w/ any success
MDC
I'm sure yours could be modified, but it may not be cost effictive since the type you desire is available. You would have to mill a cavity large enough for the screw-lock to fit in at the proper distance and angle from the head cavity and at an equal depth on each side of the mold. You would have some room for error since you could tweak the alignment of the screw lock after it was poured. It could probably be done with a drill press and a home-made jig to hold the mold at the proper angle. I have modified several molds, but if what I wanted would have been available, it would have been cheaper and much easier to buy it than all of the time spent on the modification. If we were closer I'd go buy one of the screw lock molds and trade you, cause I could use the one you have.
mikel7@mac.com
This How I Have Done Some Molds I Bought On Ebay. First Determine The Angle You Want, I Then Use A Hacksaw Blade And Slowly Make A Slot On One Side. Place A Tooth Pick In The Slot With Wet Paint On It And Close The Mold This Gives You A Mark To Use The Hacksaw Blade On That Side. These Cuts Should Be Made Shallow. Place A Long 1/16 Drill Bit In Slot Close Mold And Using Slight Pressure. Slowly Reem Out Slots, Increase Bit Sizes Until You Achieve The Hole You Need . jigfisherman
I use a straight peice of stainless wire and put it where the weedgaurd goes and then twist it after I pour it. I have cut slots in the round head jig for the wire also with a demiel and it works great also.

TCCustom
I used Hitch Hikers. Worked great. Now I have swapped over to the Do-it-molds and coils. TCCustom
