sgt of marines
Thanks for all of the info guys! I used a POP mold and some old plastics I had laying around the house till my order gets shipped. The sizes are 3.5 and 4".
nova
Not bad Sgt. What did you coat the mold with? www.novalures.com
sgt of marines
Sealed it with Elmers glue and water 50/50. I dont have any kind of worm oil yet so I just poured the plastics in dry. They still peeled out easily but there not super glossy like I wanted. Spike-A-Pike
Sgt of Marines, that sound so formal, can just call you "Kid Oorah!"? I guess not... Okay Mike. I would not mess with a Marine Sgt being a prior service Marine and retired Air Force... Army, no promises. I was just going to comment that it's nice to see a Marine play with pastic and not have it blow up. Just make sure when your stuff shows up, the term C-4 isn't listed. Enough. Those look good, I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do when your stuff gets there. I know you're a helo mech, my son used to work on CH-46E Sea Knight Helicopter at New River. Thanks for your service and Semper Fi
nova
Try putting more that one coat of sealer on the molds. After it dries take a look at it and if it has a shine to it your baits should as well. Sometimes it can take 2 or 3 coats to get there. www.novalures.com
MONKEYqpHUNTER
stop by your wal-mart and get some baitmate classic its under 4.00 you can coat your mold with it before you pour them and you can put it on them when done for a shinny stanky bait. longhorn
since your molds are simple you can paint them with full strength Elmer's and a small brush and get the shine you want. Good work on your first pours...the enjoyment really gets good when you catch the first fish on a bait you made....the fish is hooked and so are you:)
sgt of marines
Thanks for the comments/ advice guys. I had the chance to fish them today and they worked. Ended the day with a couple of Spotted bay bass and a lot of missed strikes.
