MONKEYqpHUNTER
i was thinking about glueing some felt to the back of some lurecraft molds so they would slide on my work table better so i was wondering if i should use a certain glue or is superglue is ok. i was thinking maybe the glue would react to the silicone any help on this would be great thanks
MONKEYqpHUNTER
wonder if super glue will damage the mold
SwampBaits
Try it out, it probably works. I just don't think anyone from TU glues stuff to their silicone molds!!
redg8r
You need a specialized glue made exclusively to adhere to silicone, which may very well be silicone based. My suggestion would be to dust the backs/base of your mold with talc or baby powder to facilitate sliding.
hawghunterbaits
monkey, I use a piece of plexiglass for my silicone molds, all I do is put down a few drops of household oil on the plexiglass and the molds slide like ici on ice! Smallie
Monkeyhunter - Why do you want the molds to slide?
MONKEYqpHUNTER
Felt On The Bottom Of Lurecraft Mold Would Help It Slide Under Pot Giving More Control Wich Would Make A Cleaner Pour.
Basseducer
Cut a thin piece of masonite or plexiglass to the size of your mold and glue the felt to it then you can use it with all your molds and you keep your molds clean. MDC
You can buy Loc-Tite silicone adhesive (not the silicone sealer) at any hardware or home improvement store. It comes in about a 3 inch tube like a toothpaste tube. It looks like and smells like clear silicone sealer but it's glue. I used it to mount my Ram-Mount for my graph on my fiberglass console so I wouldn't have to drill holes in it.
