Flex Coat?

Recommended Posts

I was reading a thread and saw that there seemed to be another type of epoxy to use other than Flex Coat. I know there's a lot of different brands out there but what do you guys like? My flex coat is about a year old, and I'm about to build a rod for a friend and after finishing mine last week, I think I need new epoxy.

The stuff I saw was "___ light". I'd read about it and it seems to mix up thin, and bubble-less.

Here's the rod I just finished by the way:

Huck, threadmaster is the only thread epoxy I use not so much for it's quality but for it's ease of use. It levels perfect everytime without any extra effort. Put it on and let it turn. It's dries clear as glass and perfectly level. I know that in theory every epoxy should level perfect since it's liquid but someone forgot to tell my flex coat that. Bye the way, those wraps look good.

i found recently that spreading flexcoat (regular) on when its cool and slow and then applying heat (lighter, alc. lamp) makes for a great finish. It lays down real fast and is very easy to level off... plus it cools off quickly and stays put afterwards. ;) Good thing too... Try keeping epoxy warm in Michigan basement in january... it was 3 out a few days ago.
