Tony Maxwell
Does anyone know where I can buy these. Does Gamakatsu make such a jig hook? Need some for my Do-It Bullet Bass Jig mold. Any alternatives?
Spike-A-Pike
Tony, See if you can find what you're looking for here: http://www.gamakatsu.com/m_name.htm
Old man in the boat
When I bought mine I had to buy 50,000 and there was a 6 month lead time from design approval. Unfortunatly my deal with gami's prohibits me from selling just the hooks.
Ogajiga
eBay is flooded with 35* heavy wire Gamakatsu 5/0 flipping jig hooks that were stolen from Gary Yamamoto, sold in bulk on eBay, and now being resold by the bulk buyers. Most reasonable reseller is "striperc8tzl".
LedHed
GY is supposed to be working with ebay on retrieving their stolen property. So those 5/0 - 35* won’t be around much longer.
kelly
Dont support theves!!! dont buy stolen property!!!!!
Ogajiga
kelly, you're right ! Thanks LedHed, I mistakenly assumed GY had declined recovering the hooks. Tony Maxwell, my apologies for the suggestion-my intent was only to be helpful to a fellow TU member.
ReactionAttack
No gami's, but I use a 28 degree Owner wide gap in some of my molds. They are pricey, but well worth it considering how many Mustads and Gami's I have straightened out.
Mags
Where do you guys find Owner hooks in bulk? I don't think Shorty's carries them. Steve
ReactionAttack
I get them through a sponsor, and I have absolutely no clue where he gets them.
stream stalker
Check out Mustad's lineup in Barlow's catalog. They have a few different models to choose from. Just got done pouring swim jig heads using the bullet bass mold, they came out great. I will post a pic in afew minutes.
stream stalker
Here you go. Fresh out of the mold. This is a 4/0 Mustad, light wire hook. Cannot remember the serial number off hand. I really think this hook will suit me and my clients desires.

rr316
3x is way to thick for a swim jig, swim jig hooks are regular to thin wire
Old man in the boat
The problem with heavey hooks on swimjigs is that they will roll over when they hit something instead of poping over it. This causes them to get hung up instead of triggering fish.
Hooked Solid
I thought the original post just asked for a Jig hook, I guess bullet style head=swim...><>...HS
stream stalker
smallie hunter: Barlow's features three different Mustad swim jig hooks. Two of them are rather thick, but the one I pictured is definitely not! I have the owner's as well and love Owner hooks, but the Mustad that I pictured is smaller wire diameter than the owner. Plus, as you probably know, the Owners are considerably more $$$$.
