nova
If you have some highlite; you might want to add a little violet highlite or even a touch of green highlite. You might even try to laminate the color you have there with a pearl white. www.novalures.com
JDBaits
I added some light watermelon to a melted sample senko and it turned grayish so in went a drop of blue fleck which gave me this: I can deal with this color but a post before mine mentioned help with blood red, im wondering if i can get blood red from this? That would be a killer color
MDC
Hell, I'd put some large black flake and maybe some small red in that and go to the lake. Or nothing, that looks like a dark Oxblood on my monitor
JDBaits
Im thinking some black flake as well but first i want to wait n get it in the sun to see if it looks diffrent
outdooradvantage
I'm not sure where you are from, but in Illinois dark purple with a gold flake is a very hot color.
JDBaits
Im out here in oldsmar florida which is just outside of tampa, i usually stick to green pumpkin, watermellon or bait fish colored baits
Richard Prager
That vilolet highlight powder in that fist batch is a killer color in Florida. Melting your watermellon's and pumpkin's scraps and adding a little green highlight powder is great way to cut down on waste.
outdooradvantage
You may want to let people know where you are from on your profile so people in your area can help you out a little better. Just a suggestion, I'm still partial to purple with gold flake.
JDBaits
Thanks outdoor adding my location was something ive been meaning to do but keep forgetting to do so. As far as glitter and colors im a bit limited, I only have silver and black glitter and about 10 colors..... I have a few more comming in my lurecraft order but untill then im hit. Besides the color I also put too much glitter in the batch (1 pinch of .040 silver in hex and 1 pinch .015 silver) will adding 2oz more of 536 cut down on the amout of glitter per worm? Richard Prager
You might just want to start from scratch because you will never be able to duplicate the color if you like it. Make sure you write everything down. Start with a few drops of color. You can always add more. I think you'll have less waste than trying to add any more plastic to that batch. That color from your first batch looks good and should work well with all the rain and cloud cover your having right now. Just my 2 cents
JDBaits
As it is now I have everything written down the purple batch is 4oz of 536 1 heaping cap full of softner (from dels 4oz softner bottle), 10 drops or so of lc purple, 1-1.5oz finely ground salt and the 1 pinch (from the pinch meassuring spoon) each of .040 and .015 glitter The red was a test batch of only about .5 oz plastic from the original large purple batch. The color changes were one drop of dels light watermellon and about 3 drops of dels red fleck if i do a 2oz batch ill just cut everything in half but leave out the glitter and it should be extreamly close

nova
Braveviper; try this for that shad. 4 oz plastic, 2 drops black, 1/16 tsp turquoise highlite as a vein between the purple and pearl. www.novalures.com
braveviper
4 oz will make a whole lot of veins! So its black plus the highlite in between the purple and the pearl?
nova
It's not black; it's just a light smoke. You need some sort of darker background to bring out the highlite. I use 4 oz of plastic as the basis for all my recipies. If you have some left over; just put the rest in a ziplock and get as much air out of the bag as you can. I've re-used plastic that is months old with no problem. You do have to be careful if you have salt in the plastic and try to keep it for a time as the salt will attract moisture. Didn't mean to highjack this thread, sorry. www.novalures.com

nova
Im gonna try it Nova thanks, have a picture of a bait like this? No I don't. I just looked at yours and that combo jumped into my head. You could even try LC motor oil instead of the black. www.novalures.com
