clamboni
Say what you want about him, but IMO, he's the best player in the 90's Even Bob Clarke says he should be a hall of famer

Spike-A-Pike
I hate to have to tell you this, but when hockey went on strike a few years back, local interest around St. Louis for the Blues really dropped off. That and the over priced pay per view, lack of any talent. I just found other interests. Looks like he was a thrasher, but it's just hocky... nova
Bruce; maybe you should move up here. I get to watch 3 or 4 games a week on regular cable TV. As far as Lindros goes; he was a legend in his own mind. I remember when he was drafted and he acted like a spoiled brat. I remember when goalies stopped the puck with their bare faces and guys played with broken bones for about $20K/year. Now some of them get millions and they act like prima donnas. There; that ought to get some fire in this thread....lol. www.novalures.com

clemmy
Clamboni, You're nutz.. EL was an oft injured whiner who never lived up to his billing. Mario played through pain his entire career, beat cancer twice, and was three times the player EL was... No, not a homer...I grew up in Minnesota... my two cents, Clemmy

clemmy
I grew up in Bloomington, but we had a lake place up by the BWCA...we had to get to our cabin by water as it was on a point sticking out of the bwca. My sis still lives in Eagan, and my folks have a lake place near Grand Rapids... Clemmy

Zib
Lindros is the most over rated player in NHL history. He's not deserving of the Hall of Fame. Any guy that refuses to play for the team that drafted him doesn't deserve to play in the NHL.
clamboni
Lindros is the most over rated player in NHL history. He's not deserving of the Hall of Fame. Any guy that refuses to play for the team that drafted him doesn't deserve to play in the NHL. See, now what I said at least I can offer an argument for. What you said is just flat out ridiculous. Most overrated player in history? Maybe me saying best of the 90's was a little much, but he was the best player in the league, by far, IMO, from 95-99. 372 goals, 493 assists, 865 points AND 1398 PIM in 760 games. About half of his career was spent playing at a level not even half of his potential. And he's still TOP FIVE IN PPG IN NHL HISTORY!!!! #99 all time in points!!!! How's that overrated? Seriously, how can you honestly say that? Whena guy puts up numbers like that, there's no such thing as overrated. And the Quebec situation has a lot more to it than the papers in Canada would print. So that means in the U.S., that if it's about hockey and it doesn't come from Canadian media, then it didn't happen. There was a pretty big personal conflict there. Lindros told the Nordiques not to draft him and that if they did, there was no way he'd ever play for the organization. And it was Quebec SPECIFICALLY. They drafted him anyway and he refused to sign just like he promised. No player I've ever seen could absolutely control a game the way Lindros did. I don't hear anyone complaining about Cam Neely being in the hall, and Lindros was the same exact player as Neely but had way more skill and put up better numbers. Lindros's only downfall was major uinjuries because of the way he played. I mean come on. Take the NHL in the 1990's and design the PERFECT player for the game. It's Lindros. Zib
He never had a 50 goal season & his name isn't on the Stanley Cup. In this day & age of the NHL any right winger should have at least 500 career goals or 1500 points to even be considered to be in the Hall of Fame. As for him not wanting to play for Quebec just showed how selfish of a person he is. His whole career has been all about himself & not the team. He wanted to play for the big market teams like NY & Philly because he would get more exposure with them than with small market teams. clamboni
at least 500 career goals or 1500 points to even be considered to be in the Hall of Fame. You realize there's less than 40 players in NHL history that fulfill your HOF requirements, right?
Zib
You realize there's less than 40 players in NHL history that fulfill your HOF requirements, right? Yes I realize that but you have to account for how the game has changed. You can't put every player in the Hall. Baseball puts so many guys that don't even belong in there & Hockey is going down that same path.
