Elken
These questions are directed at anyone that has ordered their own custom hooks or has info about the process. I am looking at getting some custom hooks made and need some background info before I start calling hook manufacturers. Minimum number: I have heard 50,000 hooks minimum, is this the same with most manufacturers? Is that total per order or per size (2/0, 3/0, 4/0, etc.) Or is each size considered a seperate custom hook? Prototypes: What do you need going in? A perfect sample? A 3-D blueprint drawing with dimentions? Obviously I will need wire diameter and finish type. Time Frame: I know it would take time to get everything done, but how long? Three months? Six months? Two years? Contacts: Does anyone have any contacts at any of the hooks manufacturers so that I can cut down on the pass-the-buck chain? I tried talking to the people at Matzuo Hooks in the USA a couple years ago about some different hooks mixed in a box I bought from them and didn't get anywhere after several e-mails and 4 or 5 phone calls... Misc: Is there anything special I need to think about or plan for? Thanks

Elken
Thanks for the info, that will help. I have access to Solid Edge, so the drawings shouldn't be a problem. Anyone have a clue on what the ballpark range for tooling might run?
