Wholesale injected stick manufactureres

Recommended Posts

I have been selling sticks on e-bay for about $9.00 a bag plus shipping. And you know what it's a small profit but a profit. It's also advertising and getting baits in the hands of customers. My baits are not junk or brown du du with some glitter added. I have around a 50% reorder rate from everyone who buys from me. If you don't believe me ask Jim at Ghost baits what a few auctions of sticks did to me last week. Besides about 15 different buys on ebay with the second chance offers My website took in almost $700 in additional orders.

So there are 2 sides to every story. Some customers don't ever order from me direct and waite for the cheaper prices of E-bay. But on the other hand i am getting emails for orders or questions about custom work ect regularily from guys I sold to last year on ebay. A couple of those guys were buying gobies by the hundreds and tossing me $ extra for overnight work.

Some times you gotta break a few shells to make eggs. The key is to break only what you need!

Hey Randy,

Next time head up north on my way to Tomahawk, I'd like to swing by and see what you've got for a spinner trailer for pike and skis. How close are you to the brewer??? Stick with a landmark I like...

Hey guys, I know for sure that one way they sell the baits so cheap when doing injections they're probably shooting 80-100 worms every 1&1/2 minutes. That's about our turn around time with our injection machine. It's really according to size of the bait, which determines the number of cavities in the mold. We hope that our production is different from other companies as we try to use a top quality plastic to meet the customers specifications, and we are very capable of pumping heavy salt. Another thing to remember is the big boys probably only have between 20 and 40 bucks in 5 gallons of colored plastic, which as you know will make a lot of baits. As for us, we are trying to stay away from the cheaper plastics but if the customer wants it cheap and doesn't mind the difference then we will use whatever plastic they prefer. After over 7 years of hand pouring, this is a whole new experience.

Thanks Brent for the reply. Jim has high praise for you and what you did for him in buying direct. Both of you have good baits, good prices and great service and most important, I don't have to buy locally from Dick's or Gander Mt., the most inept retailers of angler tackle! IMO most all soft plastics from BPS are consistently inconsistent in shape, color or salt content. Their service and customer service don't come close to Cabela's and their price increases across the board make them less competitive. Thank god for the garage based businesses to the larger distributors like Alluring and Tackle Warehouse. You can't get any better!

Alluringbaits must be the same people we have here in oklahoma but they go by the name A and M baits. Ive never seen there product but i know there price is cheap. Do they make there baits or is someone making them.

I bought some baits and started dealing with the guy from GA that makes some of Brent's baits (Alluring Baits). Say what you want about the prices and the baits but they are good stuff. Are they as good as hand pours, no..They don't claim to be either! plus you have a good guy like Brent behind the product!!

There is definitely room for all out there and the angler's know the difference between the hand poured baits and injected baits. Most worth their salt use a good mix of both!!

Welcome aboard Brent!!!

Couldn't have said it better, Jim. It has been quite a while.

I know i've sent at least 50 guys over the last couple of years to Jim anytime they have a 'project'. I think that's the biggest advantage to handpours. You can make some of this, and some of that, but when i want a custom color, I have to order 10,000 baits.

Either way you look at it, it's ALOT more work than you thought it was going to be; handpours and 'distributing' alike. We handpoured our Dadz craws for 2 years in the evenings and made about 12,000 baits total. We had the mold made (136 count - liquid cooled - yada yada) and cost a little over 8,000 bucks. We ordered 7 colors (70,000 baits total) and had them in 3 weeks. Just a different ballgame altogether. That said, we used the baits before we started selling them, so the quality wasn't an issue. (especially when i still bag ALL of my own worms; and weed out pretty much all of the 'seconds')

b (p.s. I still do all of my business out of my garage; i have about 11,000 lbs of plastic in there........AND my boat.....crazy organization skills :nuhuh:)

Rock on Brent!!! It is WAY more work than you can ever imagine as you said but very fulfilling as well.

I appreciate the "project" guys. I have also sent many to your site looking for the infamous trick sticks....

We all know how crazy it can be trying to keep things organized or at least in good stacks...

I totally agree with both of those statements... I have bought couple hundred trick sticks from Brent and he is a super nice guy, I actually got a comment in the "Lunkers and Letters" section of his page. Anyways, glad to see your on TU Brent...Jeff Mikos

I have sold on e-bay as well. I got some good customers that way, never really sold a lot due to my prices, but those I did get wound up e-mailing me for more later on down the line. Even had one guy from Japan order 3000 swirls from me. talk about your all night and day and night adventure( all hand poured) It took about 7 days all together or 7 parts of days to be more realistic, after my expenses and everything involved i wound up making about 32 bucks for each hour pouring. He is now interested in selling on a bigger scale, around the 5000-10,000 count order. Not sure if i'm ready for that kind of stuff quite yet. Seems the swirls are catching fish in other places as well..

Hello,

I believe you sent me an email the other day, but did not put your correct email address. My email to you was returned 'undeliverable.'

Your email ended in 'vizcarrar5', but your name is 'vizcarra.' Could you have hit the r when you went to hit the 5?

D & J Plastics in Georgia is a stick bait supplier

Good Luck

I tried to buy from them last year. It was harder than I thought. They kept wanting more tax ID numbers. My accountant kept saying their are no more to get or give, they wanted more info. Then I was told they don't sell to people like me (small or by myself I assume). So I just gave up it was a lot of work for nothing.

Another manufacturer you can check into is F.M. Baits. They don't have a website but have been in the business for over 30 years. They produce stick baits and well over 100 others. If interested contact me and I'll get you there information. They specialize in small batch runs usually around 1000 per color per bait depending on the size of the bait.
