kelly
Keep in mind I have not ever poured plastic before. When mixing colors do you stick with primary colors red, yellow, blue to get a color. Can you use black to get motor oil with less drops. Can some one post a pic of the differences of pearl powder and super highlite. I am planning to buy dels 1 gal soft plastic plastic additive set and large color set and making my molds for small lures. This is a starter kit for me I want to play around with alot of colors the other starter kits seamed small. And what color do you use the most or like the most? SwampBaits
I don't really use the primary colors if you go off the color names (Except yellow and blue). Like Del's watermelon is green, but I'm not considering watermelon to be a primary color, I'm calling his regular green the primary green! Black doesn't make much of a motor oil. Del does have a really nice motor oil though! I used to use Del's Root Beer the most, but it's not on his site anymore (except on the colorant Set choices) Here's my favorites from Del in the Large Colorant Set: 1 Root Beer (it's listed there!) 2 Black 3 Light Watermelon 4 Pumpkin 5 Green Pumpkin 6 June Bug 7 Marine Blue 8 Flor. Yellow 9 Yellow 10 Motor Oil Keep in mind, those are just my favorites from Del-Mart, I own and use them all. I'm sure you'll get some more opinions! mtcald10
I agree with swampbaits. I use colors from Lurecraft and try to get as close as I can to the color with as few drops as possible. I tried the color wheel when I started and for darker colors it worked pretty good but I had a hard time making the color without it getting so dark it overpowered the glitter. I have read the posts in soft plasics for a long time to dare put my toes in. If there is any other help in the right direction please post. texasbass1
Pouring isn't difficult. Get a simple mold and practice pouring. Remember to heat the plastic slowly so it doesn't scorch, if using a microwave use short bursts 30-45 secs. Stirring help prevent this as well.
