thedude
put most of the finishing touches on #2. Rainshadow IMB843. Fuji concept alconites and a super-sticker seat. I like the super-sticker comfort wise, but i had to spend some time getting all the cork factory edges to flow into the plastic. I think I will probably go with something different on the next one - and i know its backwards, it was more comfortable that way surprisingly. The logo section turned out real nice too..the pic has a lot of flash in it and makes it look kind of weird IMHO.
huck
I just build a rod using that same blank. My next rod will be a split grip too. Looks good, I like the green trim and your logo adds a nice touch.
shfishinsticks
Good job ! You gotta build them to be comfortable for you. I use the Am Tak Aero seats backwards on my personal rods. The way I hold the reel (pinkie behind reel foot, 3 fingers in front), it's the most comfortable. backwards puts all the threads behind my grip. Mr B
Very Nice Job. I put my Spinning reel seats on the same way as you. I dont like having the palm/pad of my hand on the reel seat threads. I use the Fuji Skeleton seat with the same cork insirt and rear seat you have there. I wont use anything else on a Spin rod. I agree, the rod manufacturers put the seats on bass akwards.

thedude
Nice! Did you do that yourself on white waterslide or have them made up? I did mine on white waterslide with an inkjet and the ink got all crackly-looking.. i redid them on a laser-jet and they turned out a lot better. I did mine on an HP Photosmart 7700 inkjet using white waterslide paper. Used the photo quality, then sprayed 2 light coats of clear enamel on it. This keeps the ink from running or anything.. forgot where I learned that, but it works well. I did a clear one with black ink which I layed down over a white butt wrap on an older rod just to see how it looked... came out good, but I didn't epoxy it. Not sure if I'm going to keep it on there.
