stankdog
I am a total newb looking for info on how you guys get some of the awesome glitter topcoats on your baits. What type of glitter and clear coat are you using?
mark poulson
I use rattle can spray glitter from Michael's, and Envirotex Lite for clear coat. I can paint a bait, spray on the glitter, and clear it immediately. I just have to dry between coats with a hair dryer.
stankdog
Perfect works like a charm, couldn't find Enviro @ Michael's but gold glitter looks great! Thanks
fourbizzle
I found some silver glitter that is in a clear solvent base at the hobby shop. I mix this right in with my epoxy then just clear and glitter in one step. Very convenient and I think that it looks pretty good too. sdfd29
Use an ultra fine glitter and mix it in your clear coat (Envirotex or Two ton epoxy). Do not add a lot of glitter to the clear coat as it can cause a rough finish. A little glitter will go a long way. This is similar to the way Norman does their Gel Coat on their lures. You can find the ultra fine glitter in any hobby shop or Wal-Mart. I use the glitter from Hobby Lobby. Several of the glitters are color changing so just experiment with the glitters over the various paint colors.
