Spike-A-Pike Posted February 6, 2008 Report Share Posted February 6, 2008 A good number of lure makers use a closed eye screw and an open eye screw, place the closed eye screw into the open eye screw and close the open screw with a needlenose plyers. BobP Posted February 6, 2008 Report Share Posted February 6, 2008 You can buy open screw eyes (Stamina, Barlows, Janns Netcraft) and crimp 2 together to form a hinge. Alternatively, you can hand wind 2 screw eyes from stainless leader wire so they are one inside the other. You can also connect screw eyes with a split ring if you can get the ring onto the eyes in the confined space between body segments. It depends on how much space you want between the segments. Like he said hand twist two stainless wires into eyelets, one inside the other, and then drill holes and epoxie them in. Makes a very solid hinge and method is simple.
