I am a senior at the University of Illinois and a member of the Fighting Illini Bass Club (holla). I wish there were Bass Clubs when I went to College. My second choice for fantasy clubs would have been something like... NO just Bass Fishing. I think your going to like the site and how you learn what you need to win a few tourniments. I know students are normally limited on two important resources; a. time and b. money. 2) Wikipedia doesn't list the Fighting Illini Bass Club as one of the official athletics teams of the University - WHY? You guys need to get on the ball. 3) There is a growing forum of Member Submitted Tutorials with a good range of tackle making information. I know students don't normally have a lot of room for tools, storage, etc., but you may be limited as far as access to tools, you may be able to get some of the members to help. If you want to try carving crankbaits, you may be able to find some one to cut lip slots in your blanks. That way, you can focus on the actual wood carving aspect of tackle making. If you know an art major, you may get some good air brush time and skills. Be creative, the worst that can happen is somebody says no. Wlecome aboard and see you arount the TU campus.
