BrumettBoys
Hi, my name is Billy I am 15 years old and I am new to this site. I would like to start making Cowgirl or DC-10 type bucktails here in a couple of weeks. I have never made a bucktail before and I am looking for a couple of tips on how to get started. Thanks in advance

Spike-A-Pike
Hello Billy. 1) Welcome to Tackleunderground. There is alot on TU to help you along. If you go into the Forums area, you will come across a section called Member Submitted Tutorials. We have information on bending .062 wire bending, building a musky spinner, dressing bucktailed treble hooks, just to mention a few. As you start to get some skills, you may want to branch out and try making a few gliders or jerk baits, soft plastics, flt tying, rod building, etc. 2) You are going to need a few hand tools to bend the wire for your inline spinners. A heavy duty Round Nose Pliers, Long Nose Vise-Grip Locking Pliers, Diagonal Cutting Pliers, and maybe a small Bolt Cutter. 3) You will need to pick a supplier. Stamina - http://staminainc.com/ Moore's - http://www.mooreslures.com/ Barlows - http://barlowstackle.com/ These are just a few for guys that are just starting out. 4) There is a list of materials required for making spinners in the bending musky spinners tutorials. Hope this gets you started and I'm sure there will be more members with more advice. I learn something new here every day. Enjoy, good luck, and be sure to post a few pictures after you get started. After you get started, it all gets alittle adicting.
