reefaddiction
I just got some scent from lurecraft, I purchased earthworm and crawfish. Next week I'm going to order some from pro-cure. I was wondering how much do you guys add into a half cup or cup of plastic? I have heard it cooks out? I was just curoius because I have never used scent before. Any help is greatly appreciated. I just finishing my new work station and will post pictures soon. Scott
outdooradvantage
I usually use 6 or 7 drops and I can still smell it, I add it when I add my color after cooking.
sro114
Been a lurker on here for some time, so I thought I would try to add a little for once. I use Upper Hand Scents. They are an excellent scent that is very potent. I personally like the Hawg'n Garlic. I put approximately 1 tablespoon per 4 ounces of plastic. It remains very potent after your pour. The Bass Magnet Sauce is also a good one that will curl your nose hairs on contact. I've tried a lot of different scents and combinations of scents, but in my opinion these are hard to beat both on performance and price. The link to the webpage is: http://www.gobassin.com/bassscents.html Make certain that you email him to let him know that you want the scents for pouring your own plastic baits. His formula for custom pouring is different than the field scent. Good luck with your work station and watch out, this is an addictive hobby with many rewards! smirkplug
Sorry i don't pour but i use smelly jelly on all my soft and hard baits from bass to trout to all saltwater. For the Ca. anglers its against the law to use prescented baits in lure only waters, but you can add spray or smear scents to any artificial bait. I wonder why they call California the land of fruits and nuts ?
D.J.
sro114 is right on the money with Upperhand Scents. Doug is a great guy to deal with. Their scents are top notch. I put them in my plastic and add a few drops to the bag. Best stuff out there IMO.

Smallie
[snip] Make certain that you email him to let him know that you want the scents for pouring your own plastic baits. His formula for custom pouring is different than the field scent.[snip] Last time we discussed this, Doug posted the following: Guys, Let me clear this up for good. I had carried a thicker Hawg sauce the first year or two....complaints came in from guys wanting it for hot plastic. I reformulated the recipe into a straight oil now. I only make the thick stuff by request now. So any items purchased off the website are all good for hot plastic or marinating. -Doug http://www.gobassin.com/bassscents.html
airhog
I really like the YUM garlic. I add a bit to the plastic after it is hot, add some to the molds, and add some to the bags when I am finished.

I wonder why they call California the land of fruits and nuts ? So you can't use powerbait or yum baits in Cali? I knew it was a strange country but that seems a little off the deep end. I don't know if you can buy a production worm that doesn't have some kinda scent.

King Bait Co.
I will use CB'S Hawg Sauce. I didn't use a scent on my baits I fished with for years. I found it while I was looking for a scent to add to my worms that I pour. I liked their slogan: Fish don't hold on they swallow it. like Berkley says fish hold on for 18 seconds. Anyway I bought some and I use it on every thing I throw. I add it to my hand pours after I pour them and you can't tell that it was added afterwards. Tried to add some to the pot when pouring and it started smoking pretty good after it was in for a while. But you can see an oil slick in the water when thoes baits go in time after time.
