longhorn
I've tried really hard to get the sexy shad color in soft plastic and after many failures I think I may have it. Maybe I should have put these two in separate compartments. I hope the bass like them too.

squigster
Great job. They look really nice. I wish my baits could look that good. Love the pearl tones in the belly. Just some facts that most people dont know is that Sexy Shad is really a representaion of an American Shad. It's not a new hot color scheme as most people think. The crazies on eBay are paying more for them than what they cost at Bass Pro Shops. The key is that a Strike King Series 5 crankbait is a great bait in general and Sexy Shad is a good representation of a real shad so its a perfect combination. Rapala Fat Raps/Shad Raps "Shad" pattern have had this color scheme for years. No one really has paid attention until KVD won two tournaments on it. http://www.todopescatienda.com/images/OF%20Rapala%20RR7%20SD.jpg http://www.chesapeakebay.net/info/american_shad.cfm

longhorn
Thanks for the nice comments. This post was actually meant to be a joke....two sexy shad baits in one compartment....all the little sexy shads....get it? I never could tell a joke Sorry, but I don't sell baits. Since y'all asked...the back color is a mix of silver pearl and violet super hi lite and the belly is just blue super hi lite with a little .015 silver flake. The yellow is a sprinkling of some chartruese glitter. Sorry I don't have formulas...I'm very old school and just mix until it looks right. rico.29
great shad. did you use a 2 parts mold or are they dipped like basstrix?
longhorn
All are made from one-piece POP molds. The swim baits have a hollow belly. I was not successful at the dipping technique.
rico.29
great result and technic, about technic i guess that you dip them after painting and putting eyes but i'm not sure
longhorn
Yes, I dip them after putting the kill spot and eyes on....the kill spot is the only paint on the baits.
