Florida Don
Hi all, First thanks for all the great info found here. I joined a couple days ago and have been browsing to gain info on making lures. I never knew that there was that much to it but am pleased to find out about it. I have some pretty good mechanical experience with plastics, die castings and stampings; so now that I am retired, I would like to make some lures. Currently live in the Tampa Bay Florida area - but am moving back to Michigan (miss the Ice Fishing) I have a home based business doing dye sublimation - putting pictures on stuff like tee shirts, coffee mugs, glass, wood etc. I also have some graphics experience. Also work PT in the pro shop at Sherman Hills Golf Club. Guess I'm only "semi" retired! So, if I can answer any questions, please feel free to post or send me a PM. I look forward to contributing and learning from you guys. Florida Don

Spike-A-Pike
Florida Don. Welcome to the Tackleunderground. You're right, there it a ton of information here and it's all here for the tacking. Think about the fish you like to go after and how you like to catch them; often that will be the first kind of lure you'll want to try. If you select the Forums button, toward the bottom of the page you'll find a section titled Member Submitted Tutorials. There is a growing number of lessons on tackle making. Good luck on getting back to Michigan.
Florida Don
Thanks to all for the welcome replies. I did view most of the tutorials before posting. They really got me interested. Now, it is time to experiment and probably ask a lot of questions. Great group - hope to contribute someday.
