dlaery
I use a sawsall with the wood blade. I also use a chain saw. Arm and eye protection is helpful for the hot lead chips.
basskat
I have a three hundred pound bell (used in a hospital x-ray). I use the method saga mentioned, cut a notch and chop it off.
charkins
In the past, I have used a torch to melt the lead into smaller size chunks. That's a whole lot faster than sawing or hacking. Just be careful and wear goggles.
lilcraw
I use a skill saw with old carbide tip blade does great, cut down both side then a small wedge and hammer will pop the chunk right off, I get large blocks of soft lead at will from local boat company they use the blocks for ballast in sailboats hulls. GREAT LEAD..........
turkeylegs1246
Use a Mapp gas torch or place the lead in a cast iron skillet and heat with a coleman camping stove. A benzine torch might work using a bottle of mapp gas.
