saint308
I am thinking about buying 5 of the 4 inch versions. I want a simple swimbait, not one with inserts. Anyone have any comments on these or anything else that is similar? Thanks. Saint.
Richard Prager
They swim fine but need to be rigged with a jighead. The baits is to thick in my opinion to be used with a weighted EWG. Maybe if it had a hookslot?

loco
do you place the jig head inside with just the eye of the hook showing thru, or do you see the entire jig head ?
Richard Prager
The jig head would have to show because this mold pours from the top.

I thought Bob's poured form the nose. Thanks. Saint.
longhorn
I would recommend you design what you want and make your own one-piece molds out of POP or RTV. The open pouring gives you the option to pour laminates of two or three colors and you can include a hook slot if you want. If you design it to be a dipped bait the final product will have a finish very similar to the ones made from an $150 mold...and they have the advantage of having a concave top for the hook to hide in. JMO and not a slam on anyone's aluminum molds.
Richard Prager
Sorry, when I said top I meant from the nose.

Maybe if it had a hookslot? Which area seems to be too thick?
Richard Prager
The area where the hook goes in through the bottom and out through the top. It is a solid bait, not a tube swimmer and has no hookslot. The only way to hook a fish is to use a salt water style (like a cotee jig) jig head threaded through the body of the bait and exposed out through the top. I think he has a picture on his web site.
