New clear-coat

Recommended Posts

I bought some of this to try out and it works pretty well, but I've had the best luck by spraying a thin coat of Parma clear before applying this stuff. The couple of times I didn't clear before final topcoat, it peeled the paint and I had to start over. I like it on jerkbaits since it is thinner than devcon once it cures.

I've been applying it with brushes with pretty good success. Working time is shorter than with devcon, but you don't have to mix anything. You could easily do multiple coats because it dries really thin. Like I mentioned in my previous post, I did have some bad reactions with Createx when it is applied directly onto the paint. So I just used some Parma clear, or pretty much any water based clear, for a protective coat and then used this stuff for the final topcoat.

When applying this stuff, I recommend you brush it on kind of quickly and then get it onto your drying wheel to level it out. Once it starts setting up, you can't really do any tricks to level it out like with the devcon.

Hope this helps.
