moshdawg
Hi Everyone - I am new to hand pouring and have already gained a lot of great info from reading these posts. What needs to be the minimum temperature in an area to pour? I live in cold weather but would ideally like to pour in my garage. Any tips? nova
I live in Nova Scotia and I pour in my shop on sunny days with no heat and no problem. www.novalures.com
Bogbaits
I live in wisconsin and pour in my basement, its pretty cold,I have a space heater but id say its still at least 50 degrees,Be careful,If you use a microwave and pyrex cups dont set the pyrex on a cold surface after or during your pours,it will crack or could explode, other than that the only other problem may be the molds could get too cold, try it out and if your having any problems chime in. BassnG3
Warm up your molds and keep them warm. I just set them on a hot plate and leave it set at warm in between pours. Use smaller amounts of plastic in colder weather to reduce number of reheats. Lastly do a search and review the archived posts there is a ton of useful info and when all else fails ask... pastorshane
I agree, if the molds are warm and your plastic is warm enough to pour then you should have no problems.
