.dsaavedra.
i have about 2/3 of a pint of this stuff, i have used it on some other stuff and i was wondering if a few coats of this would make a good clear coat on lures? if so, how many coats? i hope this makes a good clear coat because i plan on doing many baits pretty soon and since i have alot of this it would all work out! benton B
I would put 3 or 4 coats on a bait to give as protection as possible. Try on a test piece of wood to make sure it doen't have a bad reaction to your paint.
Predator Bass Baits
let us know how it worked and how well it holds up to scratching.
jflures
The product I use is made by Rust-Oleum. It is a "Spar Urethane" used in the marine industry. I'm with predator, I don't know if it will hold to scratches. You never know untill you try. I just noticed a drop on the bottom of the can, does it dry that amber color? If so that is the color it will dry on your lure.
mark poulson
In my experience, all solvent based urethanes yellow. Only water cured urethanes dry truly clear.
Kribman
wouldn't use it on musky baits, The thane at the end links it wit polyurethane and that does not always harden as well as epoxy.
