philB
Hi This outake brought tears to my eyes let alone his . Is this guy for real ???? YouTube - Bill Dance Fishing Bloopers - Dance hooked in nose
hazmail
Phil , I know a guy who walked into his garage and hooked a hanging lure in the top of his head - went to hospital (casualty) and sat there for 2 hours, waiting to get it removed. pete
Spike-A-Pike
This outake brought tears to my eyes let alone his . Is this guy for real ???? Bill Dance, a sad story of a professional fisherman who is no longer fishing tournaments, but still lends his name to the sport (and collecting royalties) and will do any thing for a buck. Bill speaks with a Tennessee accent. Another one no longer fishing tournaments is Jimmy Houston, an Okie form Oklahoma, but built a reputation as bass fisherman and tackle designer. If your really looking for insight and knowledge on a Saturday, you can pass the time watching Bill Dance and Jimmy Houston, instead of getting out and actually fishing. Lure--Prof
Actually, Jimmy Houston is still fishing tournaments...He lost his qualification to fish the BASS Elite Series, and has been fishing FLW (along with Larry Nixon, who, unlike J.H., is very competitive!) Dance realized that he could no longer hang competitively many years ago, and decided to cash in on his BASS glory days hero medal before it lost too much of its luster; considering the money that could potentially not be made on the pro circuits in those days, and the relative ease of catching fish in private lakes for a TV show, it was a relatively safe and sane decision. JSC
Just to add a little ... Bill is a real good "Showman" & was from the old school and applied all of his knowlage to making a informative as well as entertaining program. Spike-A-Pike
I still think Bill provides the public with a keen insight of how to perform common everyday fishing tasks. This one might work well for Pete, PhilB, or Vman for their upcoming trip the America; call ahead to reserve your "car". MuskyGary
Roland Martin is another one. Develped a marine and resort on the big O. Couldn't cut it in bass fishing anymore and went to the red fish circut. Bill Dance and Jimmey Houston are nice guys. Roland can be a p---k. Had a freind fishing the big o; got lost. Here comes a bass boat, my friend flagged him down. It was roland, my friend said I'm turned around which way back to the landing? Roland said, "boy get yourself a compass" and took off whithout another word!
Sonny.Barile
I have been watching all of these guys for years. Most of the shows are just advertisements. Although Bill does have sponsored products, he actually teaches you something. I have watched hours of Hank Parker and Shaw Grigsby not even knowing what the water temp or depth was of where they were fishing. Bill's show gives you the info you need to apply what he is showing you. Most of the Salt Water stuff is just as bad........There is another good show on but I dont know the guys whole name. It is Larry something or other......I caught an episode yesterday and he was showing you how to mold your own soft platics. Very informative........ Spike-A-Pike
If you have Direct TV, try 641 on Saturday morning starting about 6:00 or 7:00, Scan ahead for Musky Hunter. There is about a 3 or 4 hour block of WI/MN & Canadian fishing that makes me home sick.
Brian_Va
Ole Bill is a one of a kind. Did anyone else ever see Bill cast a lure into the tree with the bee hive? Now thats a blooper!
smirkplug
I once hung about 5 newly resined plugs from the ceiling to drip out and dry . Then the phone rang and when i stood up to answer it 2 of the stuck to my head. I ended up trying to comb them out and just tearing clumps of hair out of my head !! Sonny.Barile
My best personal blooper was from my teen age years. I was walking home from school in the street and saw a really hot older woman walking just a few feet from me. I ended up walking into a 2 foot deep ditch and landed right in front of the construction worker digging it. I startled the hell out of him. He jumped 4 feet back while dropping the shovel. The woman ran over and put her hand out to help me up, I was so embarrassed I didint say a word. My pants were covered in mud. It was awefull. A few weeks later I went to a party with some girl. Turns out the guy whos party it was.....well the woman was his mom...........She took one look at me and started laughing histerically. Again....I got really embarrased and high tailed it out of there.
CreekMonster
Bill dance is my hero.I've never got the chance to meet him, but besides my grandfather, he taught me more about fishin than anybody else when I was growing up. The stuff he teaches about, when applied correctly, will actually work. As for R. Martin, I've heard a lot of bad stuff about him, quite a lot. If you really want to laugh, find the Dance clip where a snake falls out of a tree on him. I bet he kicks and slaps that snake 10 times before it hits the bottom of the boat. mrs.redg8r
ooouuchh! To think people pierce their nose for style...mabe this will start a fad. A few years back a friend of ours was fishing with Jerry and hung a big musky hook right through the side of his head. He came home with it still embedded in his head. Needless to say we didn't have insurance then so I did the only thing a good wife would do.... I cut it out with an exacto knife. Thats what you get when you steel my pyrex measuring cups to make baits in! Be safe..Buy your own.

MTfishingrods
I dont buy the forgot your shoes story. I see your shoes sitting on the deck right behind your feet. Now tell the truth those are really your fishing shoes. Right?
hazmail
Mrs redg8r - I bought these at a $ shop, and they cost $9 (work that out). The town where we were fishing is a very small one, so this was about the only place to get some cheap shoes - I had 2 choices, pastel blue or pink and pink were the only ones in my size. Cockles and oyster shells are a problem in this SW lake, so a bloke can only do what he can do !!. WHY, do you want a pair? - it's a fair drive, but I'm sure I could get some !! pete 7 DAYS UNTIL BLAST OFF Edited April 14, 2008 by hazmail
