Welcome a new member and a request for help with plastics and hard baits

Recommended Posts

Everyone on TU,

Join me in welcoming fisherwoman to the Tackleunderground. I redirected her request for help here knowing you will all help her find the information she's looking for.

She wants to learn how to start pouring plastics and making hard baits. She needs some info on getting started, like a beginners kit or something like that. So, lets make her feel welcome.

Sorry Bruce; I thought it was "a" fisherwoman you were talking about.

Of course I'll say welcome to the madness and with any luck, you're soon to be addiction. lol

As far as kits go; they are available from delmart.com and I believe lurecraft.com.

I'm not a fan of kits because I started that way and it was a nightmare. At the time I did not know about the 2 folks I mentioned above.

If you are serious about learning to pour; I would suggest you buy what molds interest you as well as 5 gal of plastic; because you will ruin some of the plastic entering the learning curve. As for colors; go to the sticky and see what colors are there that you like and buy the liquid colors that make up those color recipies. There are the basics of course like black, green pumpkin, pumpkinseed, yellow, blue, and some shade of green, maybe even a white. (everyone has a different opinion about the "basic" colors)

You will need glitters; black, red, blue, gold, and green to start.

Once you get a handle on the pouring you will find that you will get into highlight powders and other colors as well as other glitters.

It's a great hobby because you can make it as simple as you want or you can jump into it up to your eyes as well.lol

Welcome and good luck. If you have any questions just ask.
