bgcountry00
I don't see why you are whining we still have 3 ft of Ice on that lakes I still have a month of ice fishing as long as the ladder reachs good ice then the shore is open enough for the crappies
Spike-A-Pike
You can still go fish in the Land of Lincoln, you just need to head further south than you may have originally planned. Boats are actually required transportation in some parts near here because of the flooding caused by all the rainfall. I guess the drought is over, maybe... Around Lake Kinkaid, near Murphysboro, IL, the water is way above flood stage. Some of the guys are still getting out on the lake and one guide managed a low 30's musky. The term chocolate milk is in common use... If the rain stops, there are hopes of water levels being down and the clarity returning the end of next week; maybe March 27th or after. Locally, I'm thinking of Baldwin Lake for tomorrow. Is a small cooling lake for the power company and even if the waster level is up, it should still be accessible, I hope... Good luck fishing, compare notes tomorrow.
hazmail
Spike , it better be clear by end of April or you are going to be held responsible. pete
Braided Line
If you lived in Florida that would not be a problem. While some have snow, hail, cold rain, cold wind, freezing temps, etc... we can enjoy a day on the water at any time. Life is good. Course the summer months are brutal, I give you that. So let me see. Snowed in or hot summer months? Freezing temps or hot summer months? Love those hot summer months plus I get to fish when you guys are looking out the front window raising cane with mother nature. Tman2
Every location has it's ups and downs. MN just likes to hold you down for a little longer having hardwater and cold. CA has it's fires, drought and landslides, the south has tornadoes, FL has hurricanes, WA has rain....

Spike-A-Pike
Pete - Clinton is about 200 miles away and I haven't heard of any flooding there; Nathan, can you give us an update? gofish, ill - DEAL! To my northern most Brothers - the guys down south would just freak out if they knew the size of some of the fish taken through the ice - let's not tell them either!!! As a kid, I learned I could always add another layer of clothing, but once you strip it all off, you risk being picked up by the cops. I can deal with ice, snow, and cold much better than heat and humidity. To each his/her own.

Spike-A-Pike
Darn it Tman - Just don't tell 'em where snowmobile ramp is; they'll have it all backed up trying to back up their snowmobiles onto the ice. Nice fish, did you pour the tube in the pix?

Nice fish, did you pour the tube in the pix? Sorry, didn't pour the tube (just a flat, white 4" tube). The fish don't seem to care how torn up it gets so they last a long time. I bought a few bags, and I'm still on my first. Funny though, the guys here notice the tube (incredibly small portion of the pic), and the guys on a fishing site want to know about the rod (made by a friend) and reel. Save your time and gas, the water is like Coffee last time I was there. Take a look at Sangchris, Newton or Spring, the fishing is always good there. YJ- Have you tried Braidwood or Heidecke for trolling your cranks? Thats right on your backdoor.
