First go at it

Recommended Posts

Well........ I bought a mini lathe yesterday - so I thought I'd try it out today.

Never used one before. The purpose is to make masters for molds I am making.

Here is what I messed with and the poured worm results.

The worms are a little shorter than the master, because I had to clean out the fill hole in the mold and went too deep. Hey, that is what prototyping is all about.

The master is 2 7/8" long - approx 1/2" diameter in the middle and 1/4" diameter on the ends.

It was all done just goofing around - nothing particular in mind. Just learning what each chisel did.

I had a lot of fun doing this.
