reefslinger
Hey guys, anyone use an aquarium to test your cranks? Could a water pump(like a pond pump) pointed at a submerged crank give a good idea how true your crank runs?
Spike-A-Pike
Have you done a search on "test tank" yet? There is a thread spanning three pages from a few months back were different concepts were discussed. We are planning to use the swimming pool in Clinton, MO at the TU Gathering April 25-27. mark poulson
I used to have a 50 gallon tank in the Living Room with fish and crawdads. I would drop rigs in to see how they worked. One day, I dropped in a fat Ika smeared with Mega Strike. One of the crawdads grabbed it, and wouldn't let go. I had to keep coming back until he let it go, and snatch it away from him. It was pretty fun, until the tank sprung a leak during the night, and ruined my hardwood floors. Grrrrr!!!!!
reefslinger
Thanks Spike-alot of info thier, guess I wasn't looking for it in the right way. I was thinking aquarium because I would like to be able to view/record the lure from the side having the lure running from left to right, but dont think a regular aquarium would be big enough. redg8r
Lapala was cool enough to put some Rapala factory tour video on the web. Heres a snippet showing one of their test tanks.
reefslinger
Yah, I saw 3 parts to the series. Great info, hard to believe Rapala alowed it. I'm in the middle of replacing my master bath. Maybe the old tub needs to be recycled! hmmmmmmm.
