ebay

I do ebay to sell a good bit of stuff and its not really worth the time and effort. I really think that if some of the sellers would keep good track of there exspenses they would see that they are not making any money..Ebay & pay pal ( owned by ebay )both collect fees off every sale.

Its getting close to 20 % on fees. Then there is the cost of a Ebay store if they have that..Also all the packing supplies,,,travel to the post office..

its less than minimum wage by far.

As for the trips to the Post Office, you have a computer, why don't you learn how to schedule a pick up by the Post Office?

USPS - USPS - Pickup Options

Gas is getting to pricey to go out running if you don't need to... They will also drop off USPS supply and most of them are free, just pay the postage.

By the way, I think the new eBay system for rating sellers is for the birds... people are getting negative feedback for not discounting the final bidding price, for actually charging shipping, and just about any other hair brain excuse they can think of.

getting rid of dead inventory on ebay is good.Better than it sitting around..Before I started pouring my own,, I always went to ebay and bought the bag of 50 senko style worms and had great luck with um.And saved money too.

Ebay has become one of the riches companies because of us sellers and they just keep raising the rates.

too bad.

I think that most of the auctions you see for 50cts are not handpoured. I have been selling on eBay for about 6 years and I make money. You need to creat a niche for yourself. Buying the same molds that everyone else has isn't going to make you any money. You need to creat original stuff. There are some skilled guys on there. There are also some poor baits. If your stuff is good and constistent, you will make money. I do really good but could do better. My photography sucks. I need to improve that.

I go into tackle crafting to save money on my main vise Bass fishing with my club. Then it became a form of therapy to sit out in my shop and craft wire baits and jigs. My primary reason for opening a store on eBay was to have an outlet to sell my spinnerbaits and buzzbaits, as I made far more than I could possibly fish by myself.

Then my CPA showed me how much money I was saving on my taxes by having a business that really made no money to speak of.......

As long as I keep at it.....I will make more money in tax savings than I am losing on eBay. I can live with that.
