bradley4bengals
I made a senko style mold and I have never used salt in my plastic, could anyone give any tips? Like when to add the salt and about how much. Thanks for any help.
nova
I add salt and color before I heat, glitter before you pour. I use floured salt put through a coffee grinder. I'm not saying the way I do it is the best; it just works for me. www.novalures.com
JDBaits
I add salt after cooking the plastic, but like nova says its all just personal preference
nova
With the floured salt if you add it after you cook the salt will clump up ruining your batch of plastic. www.novalures.com

Good info nova, i started using dels salt instead of grinding my own because of the clumping issues
Joe S.
I think it may depend on what your cooking on or in as well, for me I use a burner and add the salt after it is cooked. Once cooked, I mix the color and flake in so it gets stirred really well, then slowly dump in the desired amount of salt while continuing to stir while pouring in the salt, never had any clumping issues. bassnfool
The real trick to mixing floured salt is to mix it into your plastic the day before so it has time to go into emulsion. Just before heating the plastic stir it one more time and you'll never have a clumping problem.
pastorshane
I use non powdered salt. I add salt before heating, it seems to help with bubbles since salt draws moisture the bubbles seem to cook out. Stir, stir, and stir. That will help keep the salt suspended and most consistant in all the baits.
