psilvers
I have some 5/32" molded eyes from WTP that I am putting on some jigs. I do have a bit of a problem handling these small eyes. I peel them off the sheet and they stick to my finger. When I try to turn them around I drop them, I was wondering how you folks handle them. Can they be manipulated with tweezers? Is there any trick to handle these things easily? Thanks, Pete
dlaery
I use an excato knife. Just slip the tip of the knife just under the edge of the eye and lift off the paper. Then lay in the eye socket with the knife.
psilvers
Thanks! I thought that either I am getting old or my fingers are too fat. The little devils are tough to handle. Pete
rr316
I just use my fingers, but they are tough, practice gets better, but I still end up scrounging on the floor for a couple:mad:
reeves
Here is another method to try. Slide the eye to the edge of the paper, line it up near where you want it on the jig and slide it off. Remember that these eyes have pressure sensitive adhesive on them and requires that you apply a good amount of pressure for them to stick real well. wilfish4774
Either dinamite or a 36 inch pipe wrench is what I have found works. Really what little experience that I have had First I cut the eyes into sets of 4 and then I just try to get the eye just on the edge of the sheet of paper and position it onto the lure in this way. For me, that technique works better than tweezers or 24 inch channel locks.

flippinfool
Try using a bodkin. It's just a small pick. Slide it under the eye. Take it off the card and line it up on the jig head. While holding it over the jig head (in vise) push it down with your finger while twisting the bodkin. You just spin it out. It take a few seconds. Tony Maxwell
Either bodkin or Xacto knife.
fish devil
xacto or I use the paper that stickers come on. Slick on 1 side, slide the eye to 1 corner then apply the same way as you would with an xacto. Pocket knife would work also.
