pirkfan Posted March 30, 2008 Report Share Posted March 30, 2008 Because you're making your own, if the hook needs replacing, just cut the eye loop and rebuild the spinner with a new hook and new piece of wire. Or, cut the hook eye, put on a split ring at that time with the new hook. I'm not a fan of split rings unless they're absolutely necessary. I tie a lot of my own bucktails directly to the treble hook, a carry over from when I was a kid. I will tie up as many as 4 or 5 similar, but different colored dressed treble hooks. I also like to swap out from a treble to a trailer hook to swap in a plastic now and then.
