Any of you making this style jighead?

BigTimeBuzzer posted this one. I'd like to talk to someone about this particular style lure with a heavy wire saltwater hook and a different type of connection of the spinner blade (instead of the old school swivel)

I think 1/8 and 1/16 oz jigs like this would be very good for some of the lures I have for it.

Anyone here making something very similar to this?

Thanks.

Neil

You could probably get a black nickel or a gold or even a stainless hook to work in that head style. The old school swivel used has a purpose, BLADE CHANGE....lol. It's alot easier than fooling with those tiny split rings...lol. You can use any standard swivel for that matter. There are alot of options...

BTB,

Thanks.

I'd probably not be so worried about the split ring issue. I have stainless ones I could put on there and I'd probably go with silver or gold blades that would hold up pretty well in the salt water (and air).

This particular jighead I want to use in conjuncion with the "Buzz Tail Shad." It's a killer combo on redfish. A guy I know found another jig at Bass Pro that would be also really great if someone here is making the same thing. He's doing great with that buzz tail shad and that spinner blade jig head.

Instead of the barrel swivel I think i'd use the regular crane swivel and instead of a split ring get a small Duo Lock snap size 0 or 1 and attach the blade to that. There's an ebay store by the name of Maul Sales that sells the duo lock snaps by the thousand at a reasonable price.

The only real problem I see is that in order to use a salt water style hook (O'shanessy spelling I know) you'd have to alter the mold to allow it to accept the larger wire of the larger wire hook.

Other than that it looks really good.
