rhahn427
A couple of weeks ago, I went to a fishing flea market that happens once a year. There was a guy selling some soft plastic 9 inch mullet swimbaits that had a holographic film in the center that gave off a nice silvery type of changing color. I'm trying to find a source for that holographic paper/film. Anybody know of a source?

rhahn427
Can you tell me what they call it ........ everytime I look I only see tape with a backing. THis stuff is like a piece of plastic film (best way I can think od to describe it) that is flexible and reflects from both sides ...... it's ideal for putting in the center of a soft plastic bait to reflect light like a real fish ........ nova
The hologramic tape is made with mylar if I'm not mistaken. When you apply the hot plastic to it the mylar is just going to curl up. (haven't tried it but I'm pretty sure it will). If you want to try a test use Xmas wrapping. I'm not sure what they use for the inserts in soft plastic baits. www.novalures.com
rhahn427
No ..... this is not Mylar ...... this is thicker than mylar and since it is already in a soft plastic lure, it doesn't shrivel ......... Wow ......... guess this is something even you guys haven't seen ........ now I am REALLY interested .........
nova
I first saw it about 8 or 10 years ago. I bought some slug-o type baits from BPS. Never really caught much on them. They were quite a bit stiffer than the regular ones. At that point I lost interest in the concept. www.novalures.com
