Envirotex question vs devcon

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know where I can get Envirotex or envirotex lite? Im not sure which is better. Im gonna try it since even with 2 coats of devcon, I have cracks in the finish(devcon) near the big metal lips of some of my musky divers. Ive been crashing them into the bottom of the Niagara river and I think the stress around the lip crashing bottom is making stress cracks in my devcon (2 coats). There was one guy here who said he coated 2 baits, one with devcon and 1 with envirotex. He dropped them both on a hard floor to see what would happen and the devcon cracked, envirotex did not. Im gonna give it a try but need to know where to find it. Does it go on the same? or anything different? Thanks as always guys. Bob P

Hi Robert, I got my envirotex lite at a Menards building supply Store. I am sure some building supply store or maybe even Walmart might carry it. I haven't tried it on any musky baits or any large baits so I can't say it will or will not hold up. I use it on small deep diving crankbaits and poppers and haven't had any complaints so far. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. Thanks Ken Schmitz Mylures

I saw envirotex light at a HOME HARDWARE, but I think that is a Canadian chain...I have been using the other bar top finish, NU-LUSTRE-55, and have been very happy with it ( www.swingpaints.com ). Even it will chip when driven into the river rocks though....I dont know of anything that won't. It easily survives the concrete floor/ drop test.
