Braided Line
YES!!! Lets have one in Central Florida. But, lets do it before I move back to Michigan. Now there`s a great idea! The TU gathering that is.
Florida Don
It wasn't my idea to have a Central Florida get together, but I certainly will help with it in any way I can. It was Jerry's idea - I guess that is why we pay him all the megabucks! Not sure if I will still be living in Florida when it happens, but I will still try to help and attend. So, when Jerry gets back - lets have some conversation about it.
Grimsbane
The avatar is just down the road from my house. It's the Wacissa River; small shallow spring fed, great population of suwanee bass, stumpknockers, warmouth, etc. It's where we go for a quick afternoon trip. Grimsbane
BTW Lake Jackson is still low, I dont think it will ever come back to the levels it was before. Man should never have messed with it. The Indians called it the Lake of Disappearing Waters, so if it goes back that long, The gov't shouldn't have gone mucking with it. Hopefully nature will repair itself.
JSC
I know where that river is located been across it several times but have never fished it. When you cross it down on 98 it looks real clear with a black water tint to it. Thanx .. Now I can sleep tonight knowing where it is. JSC I know Lake Jackson was messed with before but I have heard that "It will never be the same again" before. Could be wrong this time, But .... I predict (going out on limb now) that it will come back after we have had enough rainfall thru out the SE. JSC
livelybaits
I'd do my best to attend a get-together. I'm in Palm Harbor, just north of Clearwater.

( The Guys were freezing there Baits off yesterday on the Lake at the MO meeting ) Mrs.Redg8r, That wasn't entirely true, there were a few beautiful Wisconsin summer days, which is a little strange for MO (I guess). I thought the weather was planned that way so redg8r could promote those great looking, comfy TU sweatshirts, thanks again for all the great gear you sent long. The stuff is cool. JSC
I got out the good ol "DeLorme Florida Atlas & Gazetteer" (1998 model) Went to page 50-51... and tracked it all out and I see where the Aucilia meets it ... are you fishing in the upper end near the Spring ... the map shows it as a long lake then narrowing down and several branches fork off ... Looks like a landing at the spring. That is all most out in the woods. JSC
Grimsbane
Yea thats it, we put in at the spring and fish while going down. There's a branch of to the left that goes to what the locals call "Deep Blue" has a floating dock where everyone pulls up and ties off. Last Fourth of July some guys raked all the grass and got about 5 gallons of crawdads and boiled em up on that ol dock. The people are great, the scenery is wonderful (lot of canoeists come down for this), and the fishing is good, laid back type of area. Rumor has it there's a nudist colony on the west side of the river, but I've never seen it:whistle:. More i Think about it I may not really want to:eek:
livelybaits
If I remember right, there is some awesome speckled trout action where The Aucilla approaches the Gulf. Any lure crafters in the Tampa Bay area?
