GAswimB8er
What type of wood does everybody like to use and what applications do they use that wood for? (i.e., topwater, slow sink, fast sink, crankbait, jerkbait) Mainly want to know for topwaters and swimbaits (slow sink and fast sink) Thanks

pikester
For gliders, jerkbaits, & some cranks I like maple. Cedar or fir for slow sink baits & cranks. Balsa can't be beat for it's action in small to medium floating crankbaits. Recently started working with cherry so not sure yet but seems good for gliders. woodieb8
we prefer cedars for lively action and water abilitys. mahoganys for slower action and depth.
Palmetto Balsa
Bass baits... Balsa for crankbaits. Better action when done right. Balsa and Paulownia for topwater walking baits. Both will allow a long casting bait with very easy walking action. It is easy to start walking a 4" bait at the end of a 200'+ cast.
